REQUIRED COURSES
- 8-Hour Fall Prevention – Site Safety Training (SST) Course
- This 8-hour course is intended to educate workers on how to avoid accidents and injuries while working on roofs, leading edges, ladders or scaffolds by defining the regulations and safety rules associated with fall hazards on construction sites. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and avoid hazards associated with elevated work locations. This NYC Department of Buildings-Approved curriculum is a prescribed (required) course that fulfills one of the requirements for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card.
- 2-Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness Training
- This 2-hour course addresses substance and alcohol abuse and particularly focuses on educating workers on safety and productivity hazards created by the abuse of alcohol and other drugs in the workplace. This is a prescribed (required) course that fulfills one of the requirements for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card.

- This bundle offers four NYC Department of Buildings-Approved Site Safety Training (SST) courses including 2 hours general and 2 hours of specialized electives training that can be applied towards the requirements of an SST Card or Supervisor SST Card.

- This bundle offers eight NYC Department of Buildings-Approved SST courses including 8 hours of general and specialized elective courses that can be applied towards the requirements of a Site Safety Training Card or Supervisor Site Safety Training Card. This training bundle *does not* include the eight (8) hours of prescribed SST training that may be necessary to satisfy the SST Supervisor Card requirements. SITE SAFETY
SITE SAFETY MANAGER
- 40-Hour Site Safety Manager
- This course is a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to public protection. The purpose of the course is to initiate prospective candidates with safe job practices in New York City and to prepare those prospective candidates to take the Site Safety Manager’s test.
- 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher/Chapter 33
- The 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher Training course is a refresher to the 40-Hour Site Safety Manager Course, which is a comprehensive presentation of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertains to public protection. During the training, students will review the hazards of working in the New York City construction environment and the specific methods and work practices that are necessary on an urban construction site.
SITE SAFETY COORDINATOR
- 8-Hour Site Safety Coordinator
- This course focuses on a comprehensive approach to the management of a construction site and discusses the NYC DOB Building Codes set forth in Chapter 33. The main objective of this course is to emphasize the importance of safety and protection of the public and workers on and around a jobsite.
SCAFFOLD
SUPPORTED SCAFFOLD
USER
- 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User & Course
- This course explains the basic elements of supported scaffold safety and introduces students to the nature of supported scaffold hazards. During the course emphasis is placed on the role of the scaffold user in accident prevention, which includes scaffold inspections, fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies.
INSTALLER/REMOVER
- 32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
- Instructors will demonstrate safe methods of installation, removal and modification of different types of supported scaffolds using OSHA regulations, DOB standards and good work practice as a guide. Some topics covered during the course will include major scaffold components, importance of proper pre-planning, worker training, and how to read scaffold design drawings.
- 8-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover Refresher
- During this course students will be discussing changes and updates to OSHA and New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) policies, procedures and supported scaffold standards. Students will also have a chance to share jobsite experiences and opinions about new supported scaffold systems and solutions.
SUSPENDED SCAFFOLD

- 16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User Course
- During this 16-hour course, students will be provided with an overview of OSHA and DOB policies, procedures, and suspended scaffold standards with a special emphasis on recognition and prevention of hazardous conditions. Some topics will include instructions on how to visually inspect suspended scaffold equipment, basic scaffold components, and methods of assembling/disassembling them.
- 8-Hour Suspended Scaffold User Refresher
- Training will include instruction on how to visually inspect suspended scaffold equipment, identify basic scaffold components, and execute safe assembly and disassembly of the equipment. Students are required to participate in all class exercises, which shall include use of various types of suspended scaffolding and rigging operations.
SUPERVISOR
- 32-Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
- During this course students will explore New York City Construction Codes and OSHA Regulations as it pertains to the supervision of suspended scaffolds. Participants will learn the most current suspended scaffold standards, and will include guidance on how to read scaffold design drawings, how to verify the fitness of the rigging crew, properly train workers on related hazards, and also how to identify and respond to emergency situations.
- 8-Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Refresher
- The purpose of this course is to help supervisors maintain adequate safety discipline on suspended scaffold projects in New York City. During this course, participants will review Federal and NYC DOB scaffold regulations, how to stay in compliance with the most current Suspended Scaffold standards, exchange their experiences and will discuss the most recent changes in the rigging industry.

CONCRETE SAFETY MANAGER
- 30-Hour Concrete Safety Manager
- This course is a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to public protection for concrete construction. The purpose of the course is to initiate prospective candidates with safe job practices for New York City major buildings where 2000 cubic yards of concrete are to be poured.
- 8-Hour Concrete Safety Manager Refresher
- This course is a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to public protection for concrete construction. During the course, students will be reintroduced to the hazards of working the New York City and the specific methods and work practices that are necessary for concrete construction in urban areas.
CRANE & DERRICKS
RIGGING WORKER
- 16-Hour Rigging Worker
- During the training, students will be provided with an overview of OSHA and DOB policies, procedures, and ASME rigging standards with a special emphasis on recognition and prevention of hazardous conditions. Additional topics will include instructions on how to visually inspect rigging equipment, basic crane components, crane setup and methods of applying proper rigging hitches.
- 8-Hour Rigging Worker Refresher
- As per 3316.9.2.2 of the 2014 NYC Construction Codes, this course is required by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) for individuals, not hired directly by a licensed rigger to continue to perform rigging or signaling work within the City of New York.
RIGGING SUPERVISOR
- 32-Hour Rigging Supervisor
- During this 32-hour course, students will be provided with an overview of OSHA and DOB policies, procedures, and ASME rigging standards with a special emphasis on supervision and coordination of rigging crews and rigging equipment setup. Some topics will include instructions on how to visually inspect rigging equipment, crane setup, load weight and center of gravity calculations as well as methods of applying proper rigging hitches.
- 16-Hour Rigging Supervisor Refresher
- As per 3316.9.2.2 of the 2014 NYC Construction Codes, this course is required by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) for individuals, not hired directly by a licensed rigger to maintain his/her designation to supervise the hoisting or lowering of articles on the outside of a building with hoisting equipment.
SPECIAL RIGGER
- 30-Hour Special Rigger Training
- During this course, participants will learn the most current rigging standards and the core management skills needed to be an effective Licensed Special Rigger. The course will thoroughly review New York City Construction Codes and OSHA Regulations as it pertains to rigging operations and industry best practices. Material covered will include guidance on how to read scaffold design drawings, how to verify the fitness of the rigging crew and properly train workers.
- 8-Hour Special Rigger Renewal Training
- This renewal course includes a review of New York City Construction Codes and OSHA Regulations as it pertains to rigging operations and industry best practices. Subject matter will also include the inspection, maintenance, repair, use, installation, hazards associated with rigging methods, hardware, and equipment, hoisting machines with a manufacturer’s rated capacity of one ton or less, suspended scaffolds, fall protection and more.
MASTER RIGGER
- 30-Hour Master Rigger Program
- During this course, participants will learn the most current rigging standards and the core management skills needed to be an effective Licensed Master Rigger. With the use of New York City Construction Codes, OSHA Regulations and industry best practices, participants will learn how to stay in compliance with the most current rigging standards.
- 8-Hour Master Rigger Renewal Training
- This renewal course includes a review of New York City Construction Codes and OSHA Regulations as it pertains to rigging operations and industry best practices.
CLIMBER/TOWER RIGGER
- 30-Hour Climber/Tower Crane Rigger Training
- During this course students will learn the proper procedures for crane assembly/disassembly, crane inspection, crane operator communication, how to prevent accidents with cranes and hoists and proper fall protection techniques. Topics covered include industry standards and best practices, rigging requirements, lifting and lowering loads, use of slings, signaling, pre-lift planning, industry standards and best practices.
- 8-Hour Climber/Tower Crane Renewal Training
- This course refreshes the knowledge of licensed crane operators, licensed riggers, rigger foremen on the proper procedures for crane assembly/disassembly, crane inspection, crane operator communication, how to prevent accidents with cranes and hoists and proper fall protection techniques.
