16HR User Suspended Scaffold Safety Training

Description

The 16-Hour User Suspended Scaffold Training is a Department of Buildings approved course and is in compliance with the training requirements of Section 9-03, Rules of the City of NY. This scaffold course is intended for any person who uses or operates suspended scaffolding. Each participant must pass a written and practice examination in order to receive a suspended scaffold user certificate. Section 9-03 applies to the use of all suspended scaffolds during construction, renovation or maintenance of a building exterior. It is not applicable to pipe scaffolds, mast climbing work platforms, temporary "floats" used by iron-workers, multi-point suspension scaffolds not utilizing powered winches, or any apparatus under the jurisdiction of the City's Elevator Division. Training is available in English, Spanish and Polish.

Topics Included:

In this course, workers will learn about proper assembly, maximum intended load, outrigger beams, tie-back and counterweights. They will learn how to use ropes and hoists, and how to prevent falls. Training also focuses on prevention of falling objects and how to use a personal fall arrest system

Course Completion Material:

All participants will be issued a full color, photo certificate of completion upon conclusion of the training. This certificate is valid for 4 years only. Participants must retake the 16 HR User Suspended Scaffold Training every 4 years to renew their license.
