Description

The Asbestos Awareness Seminar is a 4-hour course that presents basic information about the current state of knowledge concerning the dangers of asbestos fibers in buildings, the methods available to control hazards, and the actions one must take and avoid when working in an area known or presumed to contain asbestos. Employees receiving this training will not directly handle asbestos material but may encounter asbestos-containing material (ACM) in the routine course of their work. This course is relevant to multiple construction trades where asbestos may be present, as many structures built prior to the mid-1970 contained ACM. Training offered in English, Spanish and Polish.

Topics Included:

This course covers topics such as health hazards associated with lead and asbestos exposure, medical exams and monitoring (employee and employer), local/state laws, different types of abatement procedures for asbestos, controlling hazards, and personal/public protection (including respiratory protection)

Course Completion Material:

Upon completion of training, all participants will receive a certificate of completion for Asbestos Awareness Training from TSCTA.
